This past Thursday, my family and I had the opportunity to attend the Phil Wickham concert at Colonial Life Arena. During the concert, Phil said something that stuck with both me and Emily. He said—and I paraphrase—“I don’t want there to be anything in my heart that I can’t take with me to Heaven.” What he meant is that he doesn’t want anything in his heart that is not of God, which he beautifully stated as only an artist could. I second what he said and pray that all of God’s people would make this same proclamation with God.
This quote reminds me of two Psalms written by King David.
Psalm 19:12
Who perceives his unintentional sins? Cleanse me from my hidden faults.
Psalm 139:23–24
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the way everlasting.
David had his list of mistakes, and we do as well. But according to Scripture, David persevered in the race of life; and though he allowed temptation to pull him down, he never took his eyes off of God. We too will continue to face temptation, but I challenge you to keep running towards Jesus. While you run, continue to pray that God would reveal to you the things in your life that you cannot take with you to Heaven, and ask Him to turn your heart towards His Kingdom and the eternal treasures that only Christ can provide.

October 24 - Elmwood 5K - Help us "Live Out" on Saturday October 24th for the Elmwood 5k! We want to make an eternal impact and this event will allow you the chance to serve and engage with our neighbors in Elmwood Park, Cottontown and Earlewood.

At PLC we want to live as a connected family—connected to God and to one another. Life Groups are a great way to build community, connection, and service. We believe Jesus will use these groups to impact our neighborhoods, starting with you.
We’re offering three Life Groups this fall. They begin Sunday, September 13 and meet on the 2nd and 4th Sundays, September–November.
Prefer a weeknight? We have Men’s and Women’s classes on Wednesdays, 5:45–7:00 p.m. These aren’t Life Groups but still offer connection and Bible study.
