The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. Luke 19:10
This morning I read a devotion by Chuck Swindoll where he wrote the following:
“Are you worried about your friend who is still lost? The Lord has the power to keep him or her awake through the night. Gad has never met His match. You don’t have to argue that person into the Kingdom. I’ve never heard anybody say, “You know what? I lost that argument, and I was just drawn to Jesus. I mean, that Christian made a fool of me and it totally made me want to fall in love with Christ.” You don’t have to do that. God’s at work. Just live your life, give the Good News, trust God and don’t panic.”
On Sunday, Jamie challenged us to pray for five people whom we will commit to not only praying for, but also sharing the gospel with. Dr. Swindoll asked the question, “Are you worried about your friend who is still lost?” If we are not worried or burdened for our lost friends, then we will more than likely not share the good news of Jesus. Furthermore, if we are not willing to share the good news of Jesus with them, then we should question what type of friend we truly are. Jamie shared the statistic that 80% of people in the Columbia metro area are unchurched. The question I have for Palmetto Life Church is: what are we going to do about it?
I was hit by a thought during Sunday’s sermon: “Be broken for the burdened.” Does your heart break for those who are burdened? If people do not have Jesus, they carry an eternal-sized burden on them each day. God has blessed us with the message of the gospel, which has the power to remove that burden and provide eternal peace. An eternal difference is made when God’s people grasp the reality of what is at stake and become broken for the lost. We were challenged to ask God to give us a heart that yearns for people to know Jesus.
As the sermon concluded, Jamie made a comment that I would like to share with you. He said, “If you aren’t thinking about sharing the gospel with people, then you won’t.” Do you want to make an eternal difference in this city? Do you truly want to see and experience life through the power of Jesus? Then start thinking like Jesus. Think about the person you need to share Jesus with, schedule a time on your calendar today to get together with them, and let me, another leader at the church, or a fellow Christian know what you have done so we can start praying. Let’s start seeing and seeking people like Jesus.
Be a Blessing,
Pastor Matthew Phillips

PLC Needs your help!
Palmetto Life Church has experienced encouraging growth since March. We are humbled and grateful for God’s answered prayers as more people continue to visit our church family. One of the blessings in this season has been an increase in the number of children in our preschool area. To ensure sustainability and to minister effectively to these young ones, we are asking for help in the following areas:
Kids Life Babies Room — commit to watching babies once a month.
Kids Life Toddlers — commit to playing with toddlers and sharing Bible stories with them.
Kids Life Crowd Control — assist Kids Life leaders in creating a controlled environment so children can meaningfully engage with the Bible lesson, enjoy time with their peers, and get their wiggles out in healthy ways.
If you are willing to make a difference in the lives of our little ones then please reach out to Lexi Flores HERE. Volunteers will walk through an application process which includes a background check.
